OK it’s been 5 long years but finally the new Confection album “Private Conversations” is finished, mixed, mastered, pressed and ready to go…..the Australian Release date is July 20 on onestopfunkshop.
We’ve got songs about hooking up, breaking up, missing past loves, yearning for new loves, celebrating life…it may sound trite but it’s the stuff of life, exactly what PG Wodehouse wrote about incessantly for 60 years (admittedly MUCH funnier) – these seemingly simple subjects are the essence of what humans feel most passionately about, it’s generally what stimulates the life spirit, so there ya go. Pop music.
These 11 songs have been kicked around and changed several times over the past few years, for better or worse….and along the way music has changed, and the music industry has changed, and inevitably a certain sense of reconsideration and reevaluation takes place, and yes this creates a bit of indecision and delay. The new album of Confection is more than my Fantazisin’ could make me dream of. I Choose You, Confection, as one of my favourite Bands, because You Got The Love for sweet boogie funk. Your new Album is a Flirt with the 80’s R&B heroes and the songs are all Diamonds in a row. If you would say “Put me on your playlist”, i would say “Defenetly.” When you made this album you may thought “I’ve Got I Thing For You.” I say “I Feel It Comin’, that this would be the right record for a long hot summer.”
